How can artificial intelligence, drones, and augmented reality be leveraged by public authorities to improve our safety in public spaces such as shopping malls, concerts, or public transport?
KMOP, within the framework of the European project SAFEGUARD, coordinated by the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), invites citizens to participate in a new survey that records how people perceive these technologies and what concerns they may have regarding their use by the authorities.
Why is your participation important?
By dedicating 15–20 minutes to anonymously complete the online questionnaire, you will:
• Contribute to the more effective and safer use of emerging technologies by law enforcement authorities.
• Strengthen transparency and dialogue between citizens and authorities.
• Share your views on how these technologies impact our daily lives.
Your participation in the survey is voluntary, and all responses are fully anonymous, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Learn more about the European SAFEGUARD project
The European project SAFEGUARD aims to strengthen public safety and more effectively protect public spaces, such as shopping malls, crowded event venues, and transport hubs, from terrorist attacks.
In this context, the consortium of eight partners from Greece and Bulgaria is designing and testing innovative tools, such as risk prediction and analysis platforms powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), surveillance with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs/drones), and the use of Augmented Reality (AR), in order to improve the operational and investigative capabilities of law enforcement authorities.
These technologies support the authorities in the automatic detection, identification, and assessment of critical information from multiple data sources. At the same time, SAFEGUARD strengthens cooperation between Greek and Bulgarian authorities through joint exercises and training programmes, ensuring that the application of the tools is carried out with full respect for personal data protection and in line with European principles of ethics and privacy.
