The SAFEGUARD project proudly participated in the DEFEA Exhibition 2025, one of the leading international defense and security exhibitions in Europe, held in Athens, Greece, in May 2025. SAFEGUARD was hosted under the booth of the Hellenic Police, alongside the Special Counter-Terrorist Unit EKAM, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase the project’s objectives, technological innovation, and operational relevance to a wide-ranging international audience.

During the exhibition, the SAFEGUARD team had the honour of presenting the project to the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios, who showed great interest in the project’s work and its contribution to strengthening security capabilities and operational preparedness.

The exhibition also enabled the consortium to engage with numerous representatives from governmental institutions, military organisations, law enforcement agencies, industry stakeholders, researchers, and civilians from around the world. These interactions created valuable opportunities for dialogue, dissemination, and future collaboration in the field of security and crisis management.

The 2025 edition of the DEFEA Conference welcomed more than 400 participants and served as a dynamic platform for policy dialogue, institutional exchange, and cross-sector networking. Many distinguished speakers participated, including Greek government ministers, EU officials, defense industry leaders and academic experts, contributing to high-level discussions on defense innovation, strategic autonomy, and security policy.

SAFEGUARD’s participation in DEFEA 2025 further reinforced the project’s commitment to fostering cooperation between research, law enforcement, and operational capacity of stakeholders in addressing contemporary security challenges.
