The SAFEGUARD workshop following the Greek pilot demonstration was organised to strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange among security practitioners, researchers, and law enforcement authorities working on the protection of public spaces. The workshop focused on presenting the SAFEGUARD project’s progress, showcasing the pilot use cases, and demonstrating the operational capabilities of the SAFEGUARD platform. Key objectives also included promoting discussion on integrated approaches to public space protection, enhancing training and preparedness, and encouraging collaboration between European security projects and stakeholders. The event further aimed to disseminate the project’s outcomes and gather expert feedback for future improvements and operational exploitation.
The workshop was held on 26 September 2025 at the KEMEA premises in Athens, immediately following the Greek pilot, in order to capitalise on the pilot’s results and bring together experts for dialogue and evaluation. Through presentations, expert discussions, training sessions, and networking activities, participants exchanged experiences and explored innovative methods for crisis management and public space protection.
