On Thursday, December 12, 2024, SAFEGUARD proudly participated in the CERIS Conference on Securing Major Public Events, a prominent gathering hosted by the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS).
Representing the project’s coordinating team, George Kalpakis from the M4D group at CERTH-ITI spoke on Panel 2, which focused on enhancing crisis management capabilities. The panel was moderated by Ismaeila Murgia, Policy Officer for Counter Terrorism at the European Commission, and featured esteemed professionals Oliver Strudthoff, Willem-Jan van den Heuvel, Dominick Vansevenant, and Rik Winterink.
